The Changing Garden View

As the weather cools and the leaves begin to change in color, I thought I would take some time to reflect on the changes that have occurred beyond the garden gate this year.

Whether in pots on our deck, or sprouting from the mulch in our various flower beds, our spring and summer blooms filled the yard with color...

Then while on vacation in Florida, we got to enjoy seeing trees, flowers, and fruits that don't grow in our home state of New Jersey....
Throughout the summer our vegetable garden grew lush and provided us with plenty of produce and herbs...

As summer started to draw to a close I tried hard to preserve a few lasting memories of what it had given us...
However as the page on the calendar turned, and the days grew a little shorter and the weather a little cooler, the gardens in our yard revealed some new flowers and colors for us to enjoy....

And while our vegetable garden was no longer as lush (or photo worthy) at this time of year, yesterday it blessed us with one last surprising harvest...

Not too shabby for an October day's yield. Looks like it's time to search through my recipe box again.
